Told ya! Yes, that's right. I'm giving away free books. Lots and lots of free books! And some other goodies too over the next several weeks. Hee, hee, hee.
Those of you who read my post a week ago last Saturday may remember my lament over winning a boatload of books from the Brenda Novak auction for diabetes research. Well, the folks sending me stuff are a lot more organized than I am, and packages are pouring in at Casa la Harden. Unfortunately I don't have all my author interviews lined up yet.
So, here's what I'll do instead. I'm giving away a brand-spanking-new copy of Christie Craig's Shut Up and Kiss Me.
And as a bonus, the winner will get a hot-off-the-presses copy of Wild, Wicked and Wanton: 101 Ways to Love like You're in a Romance Novel by Christie Craig and Faye Hughes, another member of our crazy critique group. Seriously, folks, this book doesn't hit the stores until Friday.
So what do you have to do to enter this fabulous contest? Simple! Leave a comment, but NOT just any ole' comment.
Tell me what's the craziest thing you've done in the name of love. (And keep it clean, folks. This is only an R-rated website.)
Per my usual contest rules, if you post anonymously, please put your name in the body of the e-mail so I can identify you. Comments will close at 11 AM CDT on Thursday, June 17th. I'll bribe GK into drawing a name from a Star Wars character's helmet and post the winner at noon.
LEGAL STUFF: Contest is only open to residents of the U.S. and Canada thanks to idiot terrorists, both domestic and foreign, who screwed up everything for the rest of us.

The craziest thing I did in the name of love? Hmmm? I could tell you about the time hubby and I were in Vegas, newly weds and. . . Nope, you said R rated. Plus what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
ReplyDeleteI know, I can tell you about the time in New Mexico and we were staying in a B&B and they had a huge hot tub in each room and . . . Okay, that's not going to work either.
Let's just say I've done a lot in the name of love. Thanks Suzan. Thanks for giving away my book and Faye's and my book. You are one of my critiquing angels.
Love you.

The craziest thing I did for love. My husband (boyfriend at the time- some 40 yrs ago) jumpt into my Fiat spider and drove to Larado,Tx for dinner and shopping, then jumped back in the car and drove home. But as in all tales, we had a flat not far from the prision - and you guessed a prisoner, in for murder, had escaped. But as you can see- we survived.

The craziest thing I ever did for love was take my daughter and leave with my boyfriend to move from pillar to post while he was looking for a job. Actually, I think that was the stupidest thing I ever did for love. He's an ex-husband now.

The craziest thing that is G rated that I did for love when my husband and I was dating he was in the Navy. Before I go further I should tell you my husband was never how do I put this his dating skills were not up to parr he liked hanging with his buddies and drinking and having benfits with females but not relationships. So as our relationship progressed slowly from the help of yours truly he decided to ask me to go to FL with him to meet his family so the same week I was suppose to fly to CT for my good friends wedding I instead took off to FL and didn't tell her untill she called I had to explain why I wasn't in CT but in FL. (I know bad friend) on the up side while in Fl we hadn't said the 3 worder phrase yet I was waiting untill he said it first and well I can't say why he never said it anyway we were at the table we had just finished playing a game I had a little piece of paper that was grabage I handed it to him and what I planned to say was "here is a gift because I like you" what came out of my mouth was "here is a gift because I love you" I wanted the earth to open up and swollow me. He asked me what I just said and I said "I don't know what did you hear?" he left it alone till we were upstairs getting ready to go out and he asked me if I meant what I said "yes" I said and he told me that he loved me too. We have been married for 12 years now.

I haven't done anything that might be considered crazy for love. I've never moved or quit a job or stop seeing people he didn't like.
ReplyDeleteThe craziest thing I ever did for love? I got married (twice). Thank goodness for me the second husband turned out to be a keeper. Seriously! Nah, we all do crazy things for love...some just more to the extreme than others.
ReplyDeleteThe craziest thing I ever did for love is a stalked a guy! Yep I would wait in town for him and follow him around. I did date him for a while but it never went anywhere. I ended up with a broken heart, but that's life!
ReplyDeleteI won't own up to this in public... it's THAT crazy. So... no need to enter me, my friend. I'm dropping in to say thanks for the e-mail. I've got this posted at Win a Book for you.
ReplyDeleteHey, Suzan,
ReplyDeleteSorry to be so tardy for the party but I was off doing crazy stuff in the name of love. Okay, maybe not but I thought it was worth a shot. LOL.
So, what is the craziest thing I ever did for love? Well...move 3,000 miles comes to mind. Yep, I'm talking uprooting my life and everything. It didn't turn out so well and now I own a house in a place I affectionately refer to as Snow Hell (because we get so much of that) but, hey, it seemed like a really good idea at the time. LOL.
Hugs,
Faye
Hi Folks!
ReplyDeleteAnd welcome to the party! DH wanted to know what I would have posted as the craziest thing I did for love. I pointed out all incidents involved him. He's like, "So?" I got specific.
He said, "Never mind." And left the room. *grin* It's not too often I can make him turn beet red anymore.
Oh Suzan,
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna want details on those crazy things later on. LOL.

I can't think of anything really crazy I've ever done in the name of love. Does that make me boring? I did move a couple of times in order to be with the guy of the moment, but that wasn't crazy; it was just stupid. And I ran off my fiancee's old flame when she sent a love letter to our house. That would pretty surreal! I wrote about it here: A Little Spice.

Craziest thing I did for love was trying to make him stay when he really wanted to go. That sounds a little bitter but I hope not because I find my younger self quite earnest & I forgive myself for not knowing better. :)
