Me too! :D I've been thinking about getting Jim to watch it with me today. Awesome movie.
ReplyDeleteI remember a year or two after it came out, in December of whatever year, Jim and I were in a store that had a lot of movie-related thingies (Disney store? don't remember) and some little kid wanted a Nightmare Before Christmas thingy. His mom was pulling him away by the hand, saying, "Christmas isn't about ghosts."
I eyerolled and murmured to Jim, "I guess she doesn't let him watch "A Christmas Carol" either." Except of course I'll bet she did let him watch "Christmas Carol." Because it's a classic, despite having ghosts. [huge freaking eyeroll]

I had some interesting experiences working in a Waldenbooks and a Hallmark with people getting upset about the strangest religious things. But then these are also the people who believe in absolutes. "If you're not with me, then you must be against me."
DeleteOr the ones who think, "If you don't believe exactly as I do, you're an evil, horrible person and are going to Hell!" [huge freaking eyeroll]
DeleteJim and I just finished watching Nightmare. :D Great movie -- I love the music!
