Still Can't Quite Believe the Blue Wave Was a Tsunami

I made the mistake of checking election results around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night. And holy shit!

It turned into a race between DH and me who could call a particular election first. My big concerns were the Ohio governor and senate races. We still check on Texas because we left when the MAGAts fucked up the school system.

And Texas amazed me even more than Ohio. Then the Deep South went Blue. Kansas. Iowa. It was an amazing night!

But the hard part is still ahead of us. Things won't be fixed in the U.S. overnight. Especially since the worst provisions of the Big Beautiful Bill will kick in on January 1st, before the new Congressional members are even seated.

We need to hold the Democrats feet to the fire. I'm not talking revenge. I mean we need accountability for the DOGE firings, the massive grift and theft, allowing non-elected and non-confirmed people access to sensitive and private information, the dismantling of ICE and the concentration camps, the dismantling of the rule of law, etc.

That means contacting your congresspeople and reminding them why you voted for them. That you expect results, not more handwavium.

It's going to take a lot of work and a little time from all of us to right the ship. Why? Because building takes more time and energy than destroying.
