The Guild Rocks

Can you believe The Guild's video 'Game On' kicked Katy Perry out of the iTunes top spot this week?

Geek Girl With Power Tools

I knew there was a reason I loved Felicia Day. My mother-in-law never understood why power tools were on my bridal shower registry.

T Minus 1 Day And Counting. . .

Currently reading - Black Magic Sanction by Kim Harrison

Tomorrow is the Season 4 premiere of The Guild. As I said before, DH and I LOVE THIS SHOW!

In fact, DH loves it so much, he went out and bought a new router just for the Xbox with his own allowance. That's right. Not the household fund. His allowance.

Which means we can watch the premiere on the TV. (Quit snickering. It's a very old TV.) Now that's commitment to a show.

Anybody got an opinion on the storyline for this year? Think Fawkes really likes Codex? Or is he using their relationship to extract revenge for his guild's loss to the Knights of Good?

(Edit: DH pointed out I didn't object to watching the entire Seasons 1 & 2 over the last couple of nights through Xbox Live. Tonight we'll watch Season 3 after GK goes to bed.)

I Can't Handle the Wait!

Currently reading - Watch and Learn by Stephanie Bond

Sorry about not posting yesterday. My car had to go to the car doctor for uncontrolled bleeding. So trying to juggle that, GK's class at the science museum, and day job stuff, I totally forgot. I wish I could say that was the only thing I forgot.

Say, what's that herb that's supposed to help with memory?

But the big news today is finally, FINALLY! The Guild Season 4 will premiere on MSN, Xbox Live and Zune on July 13th!

(Yes, my geek is totally on right now.)

And for a little hit before the main event--

The Best Show That You're Not Watching on TV

Yes, I'm shamelessly stealing from TVGuide. Remember the old days when the folks at the magazine would promote a critically acclaimed, but low rated, show and managed to turn the show's fortune around?

Felicia Day and her crew at The Guild certainly don't need my help in turning their show around. Viewership has steadily increased since it first premiered. But it's definitely the best show not on TV.

Why? Because The Guild is an internet program. It's not on cable, satellite or broadcast TV. Its premise is the misadventures of a group of MMO players, both online and in real life.

We're now four episodes into the third season, and it's still as gut-busting funny as the first episode. Wil Wheaton's guest shot as the kilt-wearing leader of the Axis of Anarchy guild is so Emmy-worthy. And I can't wait to see what happens next...
