I'm F**king Depressed

I got an e-mail last week from the owner of the yoga studio I go to. They're closing at the end of the month.

 @*$@(*@*#)!&#$#&*@(*!!!

I've got my meds balanced, I'm eating better, and I've been exercising regularly between walking dogs and this class. Should I be taking the closing of the studio personally? No, I should not. The owner's in the same boat as everyone else, including me. Food prices and gas have doubled, and there's no end to the bullshit in sight.

It's still disappointing as fuck. I'm one of those people who needs a push to reach my exercise goals. Even the gentle nudge of the instructors of this particular studio helped me tremendously.

Why? Frankly, I'd prefer to sit all day and write, but that's not healthy for your body in the long run. The Public Service Announcements that sitting for long periods being as bad for humans as smoking aren't joking. My back and hips are aching just from the writing I've done over the last two weeks.

So I need to find a way, and the emotional push, to continue practicing yoga at home.

*sigh*

This totally sucks!

Writing Again!

My head felt clear enough to write a little bit yesterday, which is an awesome feeling. But instead of working on one of the current wips, I sketched out the three blurbs for a whole new trilogy and started the first chapter of the first book.

Whoops!

Unfortunately, that's reality for a writer. I haven't been able to concentrate over the last nine days. Much less summon the energy to work on the pieces I've started. Sometimes, you need a palate cleanser to clear the cobwebs from your brain.

This new trilogy gives me something to be excited about. Get the neurons snapping to life in my brain. Hopefully by this weekend, I'll be back working on the other projects.

Besides, there's other news that brought glad tidings to my desiccated soul. I'm going to hug this news and hold it tight. I cling to whatever brightens my life because sometimes, you just need to be reassured that the world isn't turning into a cesspit of greed and dysfunction.

Old People Yoga Is Killing Me!

I've started taking a yoga class here in town. Mainly, I'm taking it because I need SOMETHING to get me up in the morning besides Princess Bella's constitutional. Considering my age and lack of real exercise, the instructor I spoke with recommended a flexibility class for senior citizens. I don't feel like I'm that old. Really, I don't.

But with popping knees, stiff hips, and sore shoulders, I took her advice. I'm glad I did.

Holy Crap! Don't get me wrong. The class is totally worth it, but after the first one, my hamstrings complained up a storm the next day despite all the water I drank and the Naproxen I took.

The crux of the class is gentle stretching. Nothing extreme. I guess I'm a lot older than I want to think. LOL

On the plus side, I treated myself to breakfast and got some writing done at Starbucks after class.

I'm going to keep at it for the rest of the month. Hopefully, the class will get easier, and I'll be able to try something new in the next level.
